Terms and Conditions of Rental

Subject

These terms and conditions apply to any public screening organized in partnership with MAATMOV.
Our films are available for rental for one-off screenings or tours, intended for associations, collectives, cinemas, institutions, and cultural organizations wishing to host a film event or a public discussion.

Booking a film with MAATMOV implies full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Nature of Services

MAATMOV offers:

  • The rental of films for public screenings, either one-off events or as part of tours (multiple screenings over a given period);
  • Logistical and communication support for organizing the event (providing promotional materials, publishing information on the website, coordinating with the venue);
  • The facilitation of contact with the director or, where applicable, with a specialized speaker to lead a screening-debate.

MAATMOV does not sell films or provide copies for private, personal, or commercial use other than that intended for authorized screenings.

Order and Confirmation

All screening requests must be sent to contact@maatmov.com or submitted via the contact form on the website.
Once the date, time, and venue have been confirmed, MAATMOV will send the organizer an information form to complete. This information is used to:

  • Issue the invoice;
  • Prepare the communication materials for the event;
  • Organize the technical delivery of the film (digital DCP copy or another format, as appropriate).

The order becomes final upon written confirmation from MAATMOV, confirming the availability of the film and, where applicable, that of the director or guest speaker.

Rates and Payment Terms

Our rental packages

  • €220 package (incl. VAT). Director present or specialized guest speaker, communication materials provided, film in DCP or off-cinema screening. This package covers the fees for speakers, in addition to CNC revenue.
  • €160 package (incl. VAT). Screening-debate organized with your own team and your own speakers. MaâtMov provides support, the DCP, and communication materials. Upon request, we can share the director’s notes as well as a PowerPoint presentation. This package is in addition to CNC revenue.
  • Standard cinema screening. For a venue organizing a screening on its own without a debate, no rental package applies: only CNC revenue goes to MaâtMov.

We remain open to adjusting the price depending on the nature of the event (small venue, free admission screening, etc.), upon reasoned request and prior agreement from MaâtMov.

For tours, an overall or tiered rate may be offered depending on the number of screenings and the duration.
Travel and meal expenses are to be covered by the organizer.

We hold a distribution license (visa d’exploitation) and a dematerialized DCP copy for all our films.
The event organizer is our main point of contact: they are responsible for paying the rental fee and liaising with the venue or cinema on technical matters.

Payments are made based on an invoice issued by MaâtMov, according to the terms specified upon order confirmation.

Organizer’s Obligations

The organizer agrees to:

  • Act as the main point of contact for MAATMOV regarding event organization and payment;
  • Provide all necessary information to ensure the proper conduct of the event;
  • Comply with the technical and legal conditions for film exhibition;
  • Mention the name of the film, the director, and MAATMOV on all communication materials related to the screening.
  • The organizer also agrees to take all necessary measures to protect the reputation and image of both the director and the distributor. In the event of any direct or indirect harm to said reputation or image, the organizer shall bear full responsibility and cover all related costs, including legal fees.

If the director or a guest speaker is present, the organizer is responsible for covering travel and accommodation expenses, unless otherwise agreed.

Film Delivery

MAATMOV provides a digital DCP copy (or any other agreed format) directly to the screening venue. For venues requiring an internet connection, a viewing link on Vimeo can also be provided.

The delivery and retrieval of the materials are coordinated by MAATMOV.

Any use of the film outside the agreed date, location, or conditions is strictly prohibited.

MAATMOV and the directors reserve the right to take any necessary legal or extrajudicial action to ensure the protection and defense of their respective interests.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

The cinematographic works distributed by MAATMOV are protected under the provisions of the French Intellectual Property Code, as well as by all international conventions relating to the protection of copyright and related rights.

The rental of a film grants only a right of public screening under the specific conditions expressly defined at the time of the order.

The organizer expressly acknowledges that this authorization:

  • Does not confer any right of reproduction, duplication, recording, or broadcasting of the film, in any form whatsoever;
  • Prohibits any resale, transfer, assignment, loan, or provision of the work, whether free of charge or for payment, to any third party without the prior written consent of MAATMOV;
  • Strictly forbids any recording, retransmission, broadcasting, or online publication of the screening, including on the Internet, social networks, or any other digital platform.

Any use not in accordance with the above conditions shall constitute an act of infringement within the meaning of Articles L.335-2 et seq. of the Intellectual Property Code, and shall expose the organizer to civil and criminal proceedings.

Cancellation or Postponement

In the event of cancellation by the organizer:

  • More than 15 days before the screening: no fees will be charged;
  • Less than 15 days before the screening: 50% of the rental fee will be due;
  • Less than 7 days before the screening: the full rental fee will be due.

In cases of force majeure (illness, strike, severe weather, etc.), a postponement may be offered without any additional charges.

Liability

MAATMOV cannot be held responsible for any damages resulting from:

  • A technical malfunction of the projection equipment at the venue;
  • The organizer’s failure to fulfill their obligations (local authorizations, public safety, etc.);
  • The cancellation or unavailability of a guest speaker for reasons beyond their control.

The organizer remains solely responsible for public safety and for ensuring that the screening complies with all applicable regulations.

Personal Data

The information collected by MAATMOV is used exclusively for the management of screenings and invoicing.

It is neither sold nor shared with third parties.
